JUDD MADDEN

Judd Madden is a one-man Doom/Sludge/Post-Metal/Ambient/Post-Rock Musician from Australia.

Judd is a talented musician playing all instruments against all of the genres mentioned above. He has has released 3 amazing albums for free download.

2010 - Waterfall - 7 songs over 60 minutes of music.
2011 - Drown - 7 songs over 60 minutes of music
2011 - Float- 14 songs over 60 minutes of music

I listened to Waterfall originally in Summer 2010 and remembered it as a masterful collection of Sludge/Stoner/Post-Metal songs. And that I couldn't believe it was the work of one individual.

I listened to it on a regular basis until I started this blogspot and I forgot to recommend it to viewers of this blog. Which I can only apologize to Judd for.

The album had long Sludge/Post-Metal/Stoner Metal riffs mixed in with quiet passages of really cool Drone/Post-Rock music in equal measure.

Well Judd has came back with a vengeance. 2 Albums with over 2 hours of new music.

Firstly there is Drown. An album which is the Sludge/Doom/Stoner/Post-metal album. This is the heavy album. And its fucking loud as fuck. Really thick Doom, Stoner, Sludge, Post-Metal guitar riffs with excellent drumming. An outstanding Instrumental Stoner/Post-Metal album from start to finish.

Secondly there is Float. This is the flip-side to Drown. An Ambient, Post-Rock Chill out laid back album. In stark contrast to it's more heavier and brutal cousin. 14 tracks over 60 mins in length. Judd is really spoiling us here. Even though this is less heavier than Drown doesnt mean its not worth checking out. Far from it. It's an excellent album in its own right if you wnat to chill out to. Full of laid-back Post-Rock Ambient Riffs with the odd cool Stoner Guitar Riff.

Both excellent albums that everyone should check out. Well all of Judd's albums should be checked out.

The production are outstanding on the new releases. And the instrument playing is simply amazing. Especially its all done by Judd himself. So do yourself a favour. Download all of these excellent albums from BandCamp for free now. And let Judd know what you think about them. He will really appreciate the comments.
