ANCIENT ASTRONAUGHT are a 3 Piece Sludge/Stoner/Doom/Drone Metal Band from Fairfax VA.
The members are:

ANCIENT ASTRONAUGHT are a superb heavy as anything Sludge/Stoner/Doom Metal Band with added Drone Effects layered throughout their superb EP – “Pilot… Chariot…”
“Pilot… Chariot…” is a five song and 30-minute blast of pure brilliant Sludge/Stoner/Doom Metal riffs. Mostly instrumental but they do add the odd harsh grizzled vocals now and again.
ANCIENT ASTRONAUGHT do play top-notch Sludge/Stoner/Metal music to truly stand out from the crowd.
Influenced by the usual top masters of the Sludge/Stoner/Doom Genres. However, these guys add superb Drone Effects to give their sound a cool filtered and heavy multi-layered experience not heard in many other bands.
Imagine if Sunn0))) or Eagle Twin went straight Stoner Metal then this would be the result.
Superbly played and produced by all involved. The EP is one heavy and loud atmospheric release that I have been listening to repeatedly for the last week so.
All of the five tracks are simply superb. All full of heavy loud Sludge/Stoner/Doom Metal riffs, which will have you head banging in no time
There is an amazing 9:30 minute track that everyone should check out called “Isolation”. A heavy atmospheric track that shows you what this band are fully capable of.
Brilliant heavy pounding sludge/stoner riffs with superb drumming to match.
This EP deserves to be heard by a bigger audience as possible. As it’s a top notch and brilliant release to listen over and over again.
One of my fave band discoveries this year along with All The Empires Of The World, NASIAN and Traitors Return To Earth.
