The Canyon Observer

The Canyon Observer is a 5 Piece Sludge/Post-Metal Band from Slovenia.

The members are

Matic Babič
Sašo Paljk
David Videnšek
Nik Franko

The band takes influence from ISIS, Mastodon, Neurosis and many other top-notch Sludge/Post-Metal bands out there.

I have to thank Zak from their label Kapa Records for sending a me a copy of their superb debut EP to check out – “Chapter 1 – The Current Of Her Ocean Brings Me To My Knees”.

A 4 song 28 minute blast of pure hardcore/sludge/post-metal riffs that will have you enthralled from start to finish.

Brilliantly played and produced from the start. I did not know much about this band. However, they are going to become quite well known, as their music is just epic.

The band has shared the stage with amazing bands such as Rosetta and Russian Circles. In addition, these guys can more than hold their own against their more famous counterparts.

This EP is full of head-banging riffs to please the more critical Sludge/Post-Metal fan. Throw in superb vocals as well to aid the brutal onslaught of heavy crushing riffs.

If this is the first Chapter of many then I cannot wait to see how this band goes as they have the talent to go far in the genre. As they are band with hopefully a bright future.
