The Review:

Showing that the UK doom scene has a whole lot more to offer than the all too familiar names, Cheel Ghar give you their debut album.

The 4 tracks here deliver enough bone crushing doom to loosen your bowels all the while showing enough integrity to stray from the tried and tested routine and add other elements. 'Ravens And Kites' has a dying sloth pace but hits like a Silverback Gorilla on steroids.

'Piss Wizard' is a pummelling track but has plenty of Will Haven-isms making it a very interesting song indeed. Imagine how your bones and internal organs would cope under the dense atmosphere of the planet Venus; they would implode and burst, that's the feeling the epic 'Helix Monolith' gives. Building on a lengthy drone and eventually settling on some crushing slabs before they let it all ring out with some crunchy static.

There's plenty of promise in these lads, they've created an album that will go toe to toe with some of the heavy hitters of the genre. Buy it from their Bandcamp now!
