Atmospheric doom/sludge/hardcore metal band from somewhere all over the universe.

Formed in 2010 by the Etxebarria brothers, Melmak is a duo which combines the darkness of the doom metal with the madness of the hardcore to explain the situation of the human being and what are the possible solutions not to extinguish as we know it...

First full length released with the collaboration of a lot of people who made contributions for a crowdfunding project. Recorded and produced by Ernesto Maestro between December 2013 and January/February 2014 in Sopela (Basque Country). Mastered at New Alliance East Studio (USA).

Review:

Melmak. How to describe Melmak. Now that is a tough one. Sludge, Doom, Stoner, Punk and Hardcore all play a part in bringing the Melmak vision to life. Though they are still very hard to describe. Fuck it. Lets call Melmak an intense Sludge/Doom/Stoner Metal duo that will rock your fucking world. As their debut album – The Only Vision Of All Gods – is a fast-paced journey into the warped minds of this highly talented duo.

If you're a fan of High On Fire, Kylesa, and Galvano then Melmak is the band for you. Their debut album has the perfect mixture of fast paced riffs and slow-paced down-tempo riffs that venture across the Sludge/Stoner Metal spectrum. Each song has it's own identity and different story to tell. The first few tracks venture into fast-paced territory which brings Melmak Hardcore Punk vibe to the front with elements of Doom and Sludge Metal matched with intense vision especially on Terroristing, Collective Suicide and Red Fly.

Then Melmak throw a curve ball by on Escape Or Die as this track starts off as with a slow-paced nightmarish drone based riff before exploding into angrier Sludge/Stoner Metal territory. It shows there is a lot more to Melmak's music than just the usual heavy riffs and carnage.

The album will leave you breathless at times especially on the 2nd half of the album with tracks such as Saturn vying for your attention. It's to the band's credit that they sound that like a hard-rocking power trio or quartet as the riffs come at you from every direction.

Melmak should rightly be proud of this album. It's one insane journey you won't be able to get enough of. My advice. Embrace the darkness and madness that Melmak have created here. It's an album you all need to experience once in your life.

You can download The Only Vision Of All Gods on BandCamp Buy Now Deal though the band are selling CD's of the album as well. Do yourself a favour and check this album out now.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
