Coilguns UK Tour Dates & Competition

'The fast pace of the album allows no part to overstay its welcome and its frequent twists and turns both confuse and enthral in equal measure, leaving a record that will unfold over time to the listener. Repeated sessions unveil more intricacies and hidden moments of wonder amongst the chaos of Commuters.'  Richard Powley

This is what he had to say about Coilguns' superb debut full length record, Commuters which we reviewed in Feb.  This Swiss juggernaut (featuring members of The Ocean) are set to hit the UK for a seven day tour from March 30th  - April 6th and  I'm excited to say, we have signed up with the band to offer a stunning competition prize to coincide with this tour.

Coilguns are offering you the chance to see them on this tour.  We have 2 tickets for every date of their UK tour available to win, as well as 2 CDs.  Believe me you don't want to miss out on this.  All you have to do, is answer the following question.

Q) Who did the band invite to sing on the song 'Minkowski Manhattan Distance' from their brilliant record, Commuters?

email answers to thedoomentor@gmail.com and 7 winners will be picked at random.  Closing date is the 29th March.  I am aware that the tour is due to start imminently, so you must be able attend the gig with only a few days notice.  If you're interested in seeing this superb band, please include with your answer, your name, address and the date you would like to attend. The winners will be notified prior to the start of the tour on the 31st.  Details of competition may change subject to contact with the band.  Thanks Aaron.

We can’t tell you how excited we are for this upcoming tour– make sure you don’t miss this!

...with their Dillinger Escape Plan meets Botch noise, Coilguns sound is characterised by the coexistence of disparate or antagonistic elements.  Discordant, inharmonious and jarring incongruity, they are unable to exist or work in congenial combination but all the better for it.
