Lockersludge - Drawing Lessons - EP Review

Lockersludge is a Doom/Sludge Metal Band from Teignmouth, UK

The members are:

Mark - Drums & Vocals
Andy - Guitar
Brew - Bass

"Mark and Andy have been jamming as Lockersludge for over 15 years. Brew was recruited on bass 3 years ago so the band could progress into the live environment.

The band has two previous releases (In Living Fear and Falling On Our Faces), but 'Drawing Lessons' is the first release to feature the current line-up."

How the hell have these guys not been noticed by the Sludge Metal world. They have been together for over 15 years and they play some hard-hitting riffs you all need to check out. If you're a fan of Crowbar, Down and Corrosion Of Conformity then you need to check these guys out now.

Their new EP - Drawing Lessons - is an absolute blast from start to finish. 14 minutes of finely tuned Doom/Sludge Metal carnage to devour with a dangerous hardcore based edge. It may not be the most original of sounds but Lockersludge know how to write and play a great riff. They definitely have something about them as you can't help but rocking out triumphantly to their music. Especially on excellent track - Guilt, Anger and Aggression. It packs an almighty punch as the band pay respect to the legendary NOLA scene that makes this song the standout track on this excellent EP.

Drawing Lessons is loud and angry through out. Lockersludge is a great title for this band as they revel in thick and hard-hitting Sludge Metal riffs to crush your teeth to. It's a shame there isn't a couple more tracks on the EP as I was seriously getting into the groove before the EP ended. But other than that - Driving Lessons is an absolute blast from start to finish.

Lets hope a full length record isn't too far away in the future. Great stuff. You can buy this now on BandCamp Buy Now Download or on CD.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
