Bio

NOÛS exercise powerful, raw, sludgy, psychedelic, filthy metal…Dark heavy low end rumble, weighty drums, controlled dissonance with harsh, guttural vocals. Painfully chosen words attempting to describe the 5 piece Sludge / Doom band from Ballarat, Australia. Repulse of cliche is the attitude and focus when writing music.

Review:

Holy FUCKING SHIT!!! - Now this is heavy and I mean HEAVY. NOÛS is a band playing distorted Doom/Sludge/Drone Metal that will haunt you for days.

Their new EP – ἀηδής – consists of one lonely violent 20 minute epic full of pain and nightmarish tones that would make you think this band came from a more harsher climate than Australia. These guys are one of the loudest Sludge/Doom Metal bands I have heard from Australia. Maybe they are influenced by the legendary Aussie Bands – CLAGG and THY ART IS MURDER.

This is one filthy track full of potent Sludge/Doom Metal vibes that will take you to a dark world you will find very hard to escape from. Embrace the darkness as NOÛS will soon take over your pitiful lives and claim it as their own. Their is no escaping from the long drawn out riffs that will slowly consume you with each passing second.

If you have the patience to last the distance you will be rewarding with an extremely and uncomfortable journey you may not want to take again. NOÛS add elements of distorted noise and industrial based drone vibes that will question your very own existence.

Yeah – I fucking loved this EP. NOÛS have done it again by releasing another stunning EP to scare the living hell out of you just as they did on Brûlure and Eoboint. I think it's time for these dark overlords to start work on a full length album. The world may not be ready for it. But there will be one day when NOÛS will finally unleash hell on earth. Until then embrace this release with open arms.
