Ix is an Experimental/Progressive Metal Band from Portland, USA.
The members are: Dan O'Hara - Rus Archer - Jark Bischoff
Ix are a fairly new band starting out in the world. They play a mixture of Math, Prog, Noise Rock all done a very cool Experimental way. They add a really loud cool Sci-Fi vibe to their music which should win then a lot of fans as time goes by.
They have just released their debut release – The Deoming Process – A 6 song and 30 minute blast of top-notch sci-fi based loud and angry Progressive Math/Noise/Metal which should relate to fans of Dillenger Escape Plan and bands of that ilk.
The guys are truly talented individuals and know how to play a great angry riff with a cool experimental vibe.
The album has an amazing 10 minute track – Understanding A Process - which is worth it for the purchase alone. This track shows what these guys do brilliantly well. A mixture of great genres but done with a great sci-fi vibe thrown in to the mix. If you like chaotic progressive rock/metal then Ix is the band for you.
It might not be our usual forte on Sludgelord but when the music is this good then we have to sit up and take notice.
The Deoming Process is an excellent debut release and I expect more great things to come with their blend of great music.
The album is superbly produced and performed by all involved. It really is good to see a band doing something different in their chosen genres. And Ix are doing something different to stand out from the crowd.
