Cave Of Swimmers - S/T Album Review

Cave Of Swimmers cover art

Cave Of Swimmers is a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Band from Venezuela but now based in Miami, Florida.

The members are:

Guillermo: Voice, Strings, Synth.
Arturo: Percussion, Voice.

Now how the fuck do I describe this brilliant band and their insane crazy fucked up S/T debut album. As these guys are very hard to describe. 70s Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Doom Metal and Stoner Metal combine for one crazy ride.

Cave Of Swimmers debut album is 4 tracks and 29 mins of crazy insane riffs. Yeah I have already said that haven't I. Well these guys are hard to describe. The first track - Cave Of Swimmers - is a whirlwind of epic riffs blending 70s style Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and Stoner Rock vibes. You may think that sounds like any other Stoner Rock Band but trust me you ain't heard nothing like Cave of Swimmers.

These guys are totally out of control but you can't deny how talented these guys are. The second track - Catch - is a bit more conventional but still with a wild crazy side with some fucked-up audio clips giving this track a slightly creepy feel. But damn these guys have some weird and wonderful ideas that you can't help falling in love with.

If you're into Black Sabbath, The Melvins, Queen and Rush then you may find some hints of those legendary bands in their music. Strange. Yeah. Most Definitely. But it fucking works. Cave Of Swimmers are an out-of-control tornado looking for their next victim to make them a fan of their music.

Cave Of Swimmers leave the best two tracks for last - Materia and Hangman. 16 minutes of slightly demonic riffs with some fucked-up singing to scare you with. Especially on Materia as I think the band are having fun with us as it has a slight operatic feel. You will know what I mean when you hear it. Then on Materia the band pull out another trick from their weird and wonderful world as they incorporate some Black Sabbath/Pentagram style riffs. I did say this band is a duo right!!! - but there you will hear some hazy and fuzzy Black Sabbath/Pentagram style riffs. Insane!!!!

Yeah this album is very experimental and bat-shit crazy to boot. But you know what. I fucking loved it. Cave Of Swimmers are having a blast on the album and it shows. You can't deny the huge ideas with every single riff.

Cave Of Swimmers are brilliant and they have a truly wonderful sounding album you all need to check out now.

Awesome. End Of.

Thanks to the band for sending me a copy to review. Cave Of Swimmers is now available to buy from BandCamp Now.
