An incredible recording of Baroness live on the BBC from the historic Maida Vale studios.  4 classic Baroness songs performed live and pressed on a one-time only, super limited edition 12”.  B-side complete with a gorgeous silkscreen of John Baizley’s iconic swan image.  Get it before it’s gone!
Line- up:
John Baizley - guitar, vocals
Peter Adams - guitar, vocals
Sebastian Thomson – drums
Nick Jost – bass/keyboard
Baroness celebrate their return to the road after the horrific bus crash that nearly ended the bands career with this 4 song E.P, recorded live at the legendary Maida Vale studios in London.
Made up of songs from the polarizing Yellow & Green, there isn’t any new material contained on the limited edition E.P rather just a confirmation of Baroness’ prowess in the live arena. Choice cuts and singles from Yellow and Green “Take my Bones Away” and “March to the Sea” make much more sense and prove far more enjoyable in the live arena, adding a sense of urgency that some might have found missing on Y&G.
All in all, Live at Maida Vale is a great release to celebrate the return of one of sludge metals most consistently excellent bands, and along with the beautiful limited edition release is a must for Baroness fans. On a side note, those put off by Y&G’s more accessible leanings may even find that these live renditions provide a great starting point to truly enjoying Baroness’ two disc epic.
