Beneath The Storm is a One-Man Drone/Doom/Sludge Metal Band from Slovenia
Beneath The Storm is a mysterious one-man sludge wrecking machine. His new album - Temples Of Doom is a monolithic blast of funeral doom riffs matched against Down-Tempo Sludge Metal carnage.
Temples Of Doom is a bleak ride into the darker side of life. Hope is banished through out this dark tale. It's an album that will unleash the darkness inside you. Beneath The Storm is all about the darkness. He embraces it and he rewards your patience with epic Drone based Funeral Doom/Sludge Metal carnage.
A Mournful Sigh sets up the eerie tone and atmosphere on what to expect for the next 40 mins or so. A lost soundtrack to a classic 70's Horror Movie. As it captures a tone that will give you nightmares for the rest of your pathetic existence.
Funeral Doom has always been a genre I have issues with. Either it's not creepy enough or it's played for laughs. But damn - Beneath The Storm - has perfectly captured the tone. He will scare the living hell out of you.
His perfect use of audio soundclips running through out the album matched against the superb musicianship lurking in the background can give all these modern day lacklustre horror movies a run for their money. As Beneath The Storm has created the audio equivalent of the perfect horror movie. Riffs are played for maximum effect. They are used as a weapon to crank up the tension and it's undeniably scary at times. Listen to this album in a dark room to get the full effect.
Check out - The Dungeon - A sprawling 8:54 minute epic that captures the true essence of horror and matched perfectly against satanic based Sludge metal riffage.
Beneath The Storm says this about himself and I think it echoes the albums vision perfectly -
"Beneath The Storm has risen from the depths of hell to bring doom upon humanity."
Temples Of Doom is the gateway to hell. Once it draws you in, it will linger on in the memory for a very long time. You may need a long rest after this album.
Temples Of Doom is definitely the creepiest album I have heard this year. It's full of top-notch scary moments which is quite rare for a Doom/Sludge Metal album. Drone does play a big part in the album. It ties all the musical elements together. But it's the creepy soundclips that gives this album a deeply unforgiving and unforgettable edge.
Listen to this at your own peril!!! - Are you ready to confront your worst fears!!!.
