DESTROYER OF LIGHT- S/T Review

Destroyer of Light cover art

Destroyer Of Light is a Sludge/Doom/Stoner Metal Band from Austin, Texas, USA.

The members are:

Steve Colca - guitar/vocals
Mark Mars- Bass
Keegan Kjeldsen - guitar
Penny Turner - drums

Destroyer of Light are a superb Sludge/Stoner/Doom Metal Band taking influence from a whole range of bands while adding their own great style.

Destroyer of Light have just formed in 2012 and for a band this new their S/T release is a brilliant collection of Hard Rocking Stoner/Sludge Metal riffs to headbang to.

The 6 tracks which runs for a mighty impressive 30 mins or so will have you coming back time and time again. Opening Track - Great Death will have the hairs on your neck standing on end. The blend of Sludge, Stoner, Doom and Death Metal is always a hard combination to pull off but Destroyer Of Light have no such trouble. They do it with ease.

It sounds like a spookier version of Black Sabbath and Saint Vitus when they were both in their prime. Up next is The Virgin. Another creepy offering that shows you how talented these guys actually are. Steve sounds like he has been possessed by a vengeful spirit. Just wait till the Death Metal vocals creep in.

The album just keeps getting better especially with tracks such as So Divided, Coffin Hunter and my fave - The Asteroid.

The album is expertly produced as you can hear every creepy riff and note played to perfection. This is the perfect Sludge/Stoner/Doom Metal album for Halloween. Crank This Bitch upto full blast and scare the living  hell out of as many people as possible.

So raise your horns to this brilliant band and become Destroyed By The Light. As Destroyer Of Light fucking rule big time. An outstanding release from this truly great band.

You can buy this album from BandCamp Right now.

The guys also have a live album on BandCamp Pay Anything You Want Type Deal which you need to check out as well. As it shows these guys kill it on stage. Epic stuff.

Highly Recommended.
