"The album title comes from the Nietzsche quote, "If thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee". You see sometimes you gaze into it so long it becomes comforting. You bring a 12 pack, a bottle, whatever you need to have a good time, and you pass it back and forth between yourself and the abyss. You drink too much, you pass out, you puke, maybe you wet yourself. Hence "Pissing Into the Abyss."
