TRACK PREMIERE: Ex People offer low-slung hulking riffs, lurching drums and soaring vocals on "Surekill"

As certified underground volume dealers, The Sludgelord has been bestowed with the mission of introducing a very new amp abuser in the form of Ex People, a four piece from East London.

The quartet have been refining their craft in a variety of bands and immersing themselves in the London DIY scene for a few years; however it was the allure of the mighty riff that brought them together.  Reborn as Ex People and attracted to all things dark and doom-laden, they have been able to forge a sound from the molten furnace of doom that both pummels and pulls you in.  To put it simply, Ex People are architects of a fuzzed up, fucked up stoner rock, with grinding riffs, mean bottom end, and added punk attitude that with strike a blow in the heart of the metal underground.

In the bands own words, Ex People produce music “that is a slippery concoction of anguish and catharsis -- or, in other words, low-slung hulking riffs, lurching drums and soaring vocals.”

We can confirm that after one listen of today’s exclusive track ‘Surekill’, their fizzing, fuzzy guitar, low end bass growl and thumping wallop will hook you stoners for sure. However, added to that is a profusion of other influences that set Ex People apart from the legion of fuzz zombies that churn out a succession of mediocrity.

So take the plunge let yourself be infected by the murky sonic world of Ex People; you won’t be sorry. Fans of Windhand, Melvins, Electric Wizard and Kylesa are gonna lose their shit to this band’s fiendishly constructed hooks.

Ex People are: Laura Kirsop, vocals. Calum Gunn, guitar, Vicki Dawson, drums and Ed White, bass.  ‘Without’ and ‘Surekill’ will be available on bandcamp on 18th November and you can stream the latter below.  In battle of doom vs. evil, Ex People wins
