SLUDGELORD RECORDS PRE-ORDER #99: Saltbuck, "Gorb"

Hey everyone, yes it's that time of the month again, its Bandcamp Friday, which means all sales go directly to the artist/label, so if ever there was a time to support labels, today is that day.

To celebrate, I'm excited to announce a brand new preorder and more importantly we're excited to share with you the upcoming release of "Gorb", the brand new record from SALTBUCK, a devastatingly bleak sludge band from the UK.

The album consists of four bleak and super heavy tracks. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Wayne Adams, who has worked on a number of other records we have released on Sludgelord Records, including the mighty TORPOR.

The preorder is live now and "Gorb" will be issued on limited edition CD. Not only that, you can stream the opening track "Heresy" now. We are excited about this collaboration and we hope you like it.

Check it is out, place an order and support the underground.

The Sludgelord Song Premiere - "Terrifying Japanese Coldplay Documentary" by Palehorse

By:  Aaron Pickford

“Gee, That Ain’t Swell”, a cheekily monikered debut if ever there was one, indeed Palehorse were possibly so underground during the time of the band’s debut release in 2003, the fact that 16 years later the band are calling it a day, is perhaps testament to that statement. But all joking aside, a band whose debut could be construed as a modern British masterpiece, all the while with a comparatively avante garde approach with two basses ringing distorted noise through a filter of depressive and maniacally savage vocals, Palehorse have remained at the cutting edge of the underground heavy scene.  Quite simply they have always been the one, but not Metallica

So as we approach something resembling the summer here in the UK, Palehorse are set to issue what will most likely be their epitaph, with new album “Looking Wet in Public” via Truthseeker Music.

Having recently undertaken a co-headline tour of the UK with Ghold throughout the early part of May and finishing up in Leeds, Palehorse will perform their final ever appearance and  farewell show, at the prestigious  Temples Festival in Bristol on 5th June.  As their press release for their new album attests too, Palehorse are about to leave listeners with the uncomfortable sense that something inevitable and horrifying is going to happen, indeed this will be the only time, you’re gonna be happy about “Looking Wet in Public”.

With a little over a month to go before the new album drops, today at The Sludgelord in partnership with the good folks at Truthseeker Music, we can officially debut an exclusive stream of a brand new tune entitled “Terrifying Japanese Coldplay Documentary”.  You have been warned, this is sluggish distorted sludge at its best, so before you check it out, fix yourself a sandwich because you won't want to die on an empty stomach.

Looking Wet in Public” has a street date of July 1st and is available as a download and limited vinyl.  It can preordered here now, so what are you waiting for.  A full track listing and artwork can be found below.

“Looking Wet in Public” DD//LP Tracklisting:

Miserable Heroin Addict vs. Jehovahs Witness Guy

The Sludgelord News: Third I Rex to release the crushing "Loss" album by sludge, hardcore maniacs LLNN

By:  Aaron Pickford

Self styled post apocalyptic hardcore maniacs, LLNN from Copenhagen fresh from decimating ear drums with their caustic and punishing debut album “Loss” last year, have teamed up with DIY label Third I Rex to release it on CD for the first time. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the band, get set for a bludgeoning  and mesmerising mix of sludge, hardcore and sci-fi Bladerunner driven madness.

Drawing comparisons to Converge and Love Sex Machine but filtered through the visionary mind of cult sci fi movies, LLNN’s attitude to their compositions is one of devotion to embracing a variety of genres but melding them into their own unique and outstanding personality.

Ultimately their debut album is visionary but more importantly monumentally crushing, "Loss" is a journey through lands unknown.  Equally aggressive and comfortable on stage, LLNN have performed live in support of Redwood Hill, Église, Czar, Smertegrænsens Toldere, Pyramido, Grim Van Doom, Year Of No Light, Arakk  and will soon share the stage with Cult Of Luna, Pelican, Russian Circle

So ask yourself the question, “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep”? And immerse yourself in this fantastic debut video “Rapture” from this neck wrecking genre bending Danish quartet. Don’t forget to pull the trigger and order to the CD whilst you’re at it.  The preorder begins today.

The record is called “Loss” it is available to preorder here and you can find the track listing below:

The Sludgelord News: KINGS DESTROY: Brooklyn Stoner Rock/Doom Unit To Release New Full-Length Via War Crime Recordings; Preorders Available

Brooklyn stoner /doom crew KINGS DESTROY, a firm favourite at Sludgelord acres, are set to unveil their new record, with a release date set for May 5th. Simply titled ‘King Destroy’, this self titled record is the follow-up to last years ‘A Time Of Hunting’ full length.  Once again the band has teamed up with famed producer, Sanford Parker at Studio G in Brooklyn, to record and mix it, with the master being handled by Colin Jordan at The Boiler Room in Chicago

The new release will be their third album in four years, with the band being championed by Yob guitarist/vocalist Mike Scheidt, he exclaims "It's a great album. Heavy, yes. Doom? Yes, But what is best about KINGS DESTROY is that they write good songs. Helmet meets early Queens Of The Stone Age meets Kyuss/Unida, roughly. [Steve] Murphy's vocals are strong and really steps up what is already killer.” Now that’s high praise indeed.

You can check out our most recent review of their work here. The track listing for ‘Kings Destroy’ can found below and with killer artwork to match, this album is set to be their best yet.  Check out this band if you haven’t already, with more updates to follow over the forthcoming weeks.

The Sludgelord News: UFOMAMMUT Releases Track From New LP And Interview Through Several Global Branches Of Noisey; Fifth Making-Of Ecate Video Released + Preorders Posted

In a multi-nation takeover, multiple international branches of Vice Magazine's music channel, Noisey, have cooperatively premiered "Plouton," the gargantuan second movement on UFOMAMMUT's impending seventh LP, Ecate. In addition to leak of the new track, the fifth installment of short videos documenting the mammoth undertaking of the Ecate recording sessions has been posted, focusing on the album's vocals being harnessed, and preorder packages for the mighty record have also been activated.

As with the rest of Ecate, "Plouton" is a bit varied from the majority of UFOMAMMUT's vast recorded catalog, the album unloading a more dense and upbeat percussive and riffage attack, taking the band's cosmic, psychedelic tones to some of their most devastating capabilities in the band's now decade-and-a-half-long mission. At just over three minutes in length, "Plouton" consumes only a fractional amount of time compared to most of their extensive doom/sludge anthems, but helps create a distressing amount of tension early in the album which uncoils and consumes everything in earshot over the subsequent tracks. Spearheaded by Noisey's Brazilian sect, the magazine's American and Italian branches have also joined the mission to help disseminate the premiere of "Plouton" to as much of the globe as possible. The track is joined by an interview with the band on the creation of Ecate and their upcoming international tour plans following the album's release, once again through Neurosis' mighty label cult, Neurot Recordings, in conjunction with the band's own Supernatural Cat Records.

Endure "Plouton" and the interview with UFOMAMMUT now at Noisey Brazil HERE, US HERE and Italy HERE.

Scope the fifth of seven mini-documentaries on Ecate's recording process at THIS LOCATION and stand by for the final episode to leak in the coming days. Also catch up with part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4.

Preorders for Ecate including limited edition vinyl, CD, shirt, and bundle deals are now available. In North America stop by the Neurot Recordings store HERE and internationally click to Supernatural Cat's store HERE.

UFOMAMMUT's massive international tour in support of Ecate begins directly after its release, with several Italian shows preceding their two-week European tour with the UK's Conan, and including appearances at both of this year's Desertfest events in London and Berlin. And May and June will see the band on their first-ever tour of North America. Initiated by their anticipated performance at this year's Maryland Deathfest with lablemates Yob, Neurosis and countless others, UFOMAMMUT's month-long North America Spring 2015 will run from May 13th through June 13th, with direct support from Relapse Records' Usnea.

The Sludgelord News: FULGORA: Full-Length From Grindcore/Death Unit Featuring Members Of Pig Destroyer, Misery Index & Agoraphobic Nosebleed Streaming In Its Entirety At Decibel; Preorders Available

Stratagem is the forthcoming, seven-track skull-crusher from grindcore/death perpetrators, FULGORA. A name representing the female personification of lightning in Greek mythology, FULGORA features members of Pig Destroyer, Misery Index and Agoraphobic Nosebleed. Together, their output is vicious, painful and sadistic.

S
et for imminent detonation courtesy of Housecore Records next month, Stratagem is a sinister collection of limited vinyl singles and samples. In anticipation of its release, today Decibel Magazine spews forth Stratagem in its scathing entirety noting in a recent 8/10 review of the record, "With Adam and John Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, Misery Index, Agoraphobic Nosebleed etc.) acting as the rhythmic backbone for guitarist/vocalist B.L. LaMew it's not a surprise that direct lines exist between those bands. Not that we're complaining. Adam's drumming ...unfathomably exudes space, breadth and surprising amounts of groove, while sounding like he's hitting everything at once. His frenetic style works well with LaMew's weaving of splashy discord into taut powerful riffs."

Strap on a helmet and check out Stratagem at THIS LOCATION.

And if you missed it, watch the visual companion to the track "Meridian," which American Aftermath dubs a "three-minute barrage of vile, grind mayhem," playing at Metal Injection at THIS LOCATION.

FULGORA will release Stratagem via Philip H. Anselmo's Housecore Records on March 24th, 2015. For CD preorders, visit THIS LOCATION. Vinyl lovers go HERE
.
"FULGORA is cute" - Philip H. Anselmo

"...if Misery Index is a determined fanatic seething with the righteous rage of political revolution and Pig Destroyer is the lovelorn, desperate stalker of every woman's nightmares, then FULGORA is a mad scientist who is going to make you the middle section of his human centipede. FULGORA's music is unforgiving and furious, but it's also executed with surgical precision." - MetalSucks
