TRACK PREMIERE: Moloken, "Hollow Caress"

Since the dawn of time music has been a part of human history and it is the only language that has transcended every age. Of the few fortunate that channel one of humanities oldest forms of expression is the aging colossus Moloken. Born in the bitter cold of Ume in 2007 the band has walked their own path disregarding musical conventions and genres. To change, morph and evolve restlessly is in the very fabric of Moloken and the titan above us is still on a journey into the unknown. Music is their religion and it unleashes feelings that are only understood by the heart of those who listen.

Throughout the last 12 years the band has been fusing together influences from Death/Doom/Black Metal along with 70's progressive rock and Hardcore. The result is a unique blend of dark, moody and menacing music that manages to be both cerebral and crushingly heavy. The goal of the band has always been to create something of their own while acknowledging that they are standing on the shoulders of giants: Burn what we worshipped and worship what we burned.

Having joined the roster of the ever impressive roster of The Sign Records, Moloken will release their new album ’Unveilance Of Dark Matter‘ on January 31, 2020 and today we’re debuting a brand new track taken from the record, entitled “Hollow Caress” which you can check out below.  Preorder the record HERE

VIDEO PREMIERE: Stockholm's brightest new band The Riven debt "Shadow Man"

Self releasing their debut EP “Black Bird” in April 2017 Stockholm based heavy rock band The Riven will undoubtedly take 2019 by storm with the release of their debut full length set for release via The Sign Records.   Though little is known about their forthcoming album, the band have already started the promotion of the record with the recent release of the track “Fortune Teller” and today what better way to deliver  some Christmas cheer than to debut another kick ass track from arguably one of the brightest new talents in heavy rock.  Check out “Shadow Man” below and read what vocalist Totta has to say about the track

“There he goes into the unknown… The lyrics came to mind as I travelled on a train in Sardinia one warm and hazy afternoon. Representing your inner voice and angst, but also refers to your shadow that follows you wherever you go as long as you let the light shine on you. There was this one time when bass player Max decided to record a phrase on his phone. When I heard this ”oh shadow man” I knew this was the melody and name for the song I’d started writing some time before. The video for "Shadow Man" shows The Riven playing the song live. Roberto, who we worked with, captured us and the energy of a live performance. In Shadow man we wanted to introduce the band to everyone who hasn’t yet put a face on The Riven. Have a look, grab a beer and remember that Shadow man stands and falls with you.”   From Totta, The Riven

ALBUM PREMIERE: Sweden's Wheel in the Sky deliver epic sophomore "Beyond The Pale"

On Friday 31 August 2018, Sweden’s Wheel In The Sky are certain to turn some heads with new album, 'Beyond The Pale', a concept album about darkness and death. Formed in 2014, their urge to create something ostentatious and grand in scale was conceived.  Debut album “Heading For The Night”, was  eight tracks of pure rock energy combined with the fury and drug-induced psychosis of sixties garage. Spiced with the anger of punk, the haunting sadness of post-rock and the epic sounds of seventies classic rock.

Fast forward to the present and now almost 3 years later Wheel in the Sky’s journey continues with an album that overflows with melody and a dark gothic energy, while tracks such as 'Burn Babylon Burn' and 'The Only Dead Girl in the City' also contain catchy pop hooks.  More importantly Wheel In The Sky tells stories and “'Beyond The Pale'” is certain to take you on a journey and today at THE SLUDGELORD were offering you the chance to take that journey with us as we premiere the album in full below.  Orders are being taken HERE

VIDEO PREMIERE: Demon Head deliver the "The Resistance" on 420 Day!!!

Demon Head is pleased to unveil their new 7" “The Resistance”, this new release is an epilogue to the bands last album 'Thunder on the Fields’ and contains two stories that will enthral the listener. The first single “Rivers of Mars” is a haunting rock song that somehow blends the scene of a forest night with the discovery of water on the Red Planet - our closest, still unknown neighbouring world.

“The Resistance” is the timeless narrative of the struggles and nightmares of an underground, partisan movement in the face of totalitarian power. Demon Head have crafted the music as a sinister rock soundtrack to tell this tale: our homage to those who defy tyranny and today you can check out the video to accompany “The Resistance” below.  The 7inch drops today via The Sign Records and is available here

VIDEO PREMIERE: Swedish hard rock sensations Märvel hit the headlines with "All Over The News"

On October 7th 2017 Swedish hard rock sensations Märvel will release their new album “At The Sunshine Factory”. The band have worked hard to create a ”larger than life” sound, building a studio of their own to get enough time to develop their songs to perfection. A cheerful production disguises a darker lyrical theme affected by today's world situation.

Having inked a deal with The Sign Records in the beginning of 2017, they have started to re-release Märvel’s earlier albums on new formats, but new material is what fans of the band have been craving and Märvel have never been this well equipped and ready to make a first and lasting impression on a new audience, and are set to deliver something fresh and invigorating.

Märvel’s music has been described as sweaty group sex with The Hellacopters, Turbonegro and Electric Six at a KISS-themed children’s party. Throw some 60s soul and the good kind of 80s metal into the mix and you’ve got it.  So if that sounds like your kind of party, check out their new video for “All Over the News” below which is taken from their forthcoming album. Preorders for the album are available here
