The Review:

A Four piece sludge-ish/noise-ish/stoner-ish outfit from London, Morag Tong bring some rumbling riffage to the table on this, their debut release. Track lengths range from under three minutes to over eight minutes, while for the princely sum of £1 for a download, you can't really go wrong. “Monolithian” opens and provides a succinct single shot summing up what the band is about. “Godhead” is more expansive in approach, but contains same raw ingredients; big riffs, slow paces, vocals used sparingly (but surprisingly clean in places) and a live sound that is raw and perfectly suited to the material.

The title track is a sprawling epic here, the song length allowing for more dynamics and changes. “The Eyes of Men” offers up similarly crushing fair and with that it is all over. There is some nice lead work here, some good variations in sound and approach and overall this is a strong EP that is well worth giving a listen and downloading.
