Review:

Hijo de la Tormenta is a very strange and wonderful sounding band that blends Psych Rock, Doom, Sludge, Stoner and a whole load of FUZZ. Their S/T debut album is one weird trippy psychedelic ride that will leave you in a daze. Opening track Viaje de Ida / Viaje de Vuelta starts off as a psychedelic instrumental stoner jam session before finally exploding into life with vibrant vocals and fuzzy as hell riffs towards the 5 minute mark.

It's a brilliantly produced and sounding album as you can hear every instance of FUZZ being used to the last drop. Hijo de la Tormenta know how to write some great riffs to immerse yourself with. It's a mixture of Stoner, Doom, Sludge Metal that shouldn't really work but Hijo de la Tormenta somehow make it work. The instrumental work is flawless through out. Though the band truly come to life and will probably turn some heads within the scene is when they start adding elements of Prog Rock/Metal to the mix. It's one gigantic FUZZ invasion as Hijo de la Tormenta don't hold back with the different noises and riffs they have created here.

Other great tracks to check out are: Desde la Espesura (Lado A), Desde la Espesura (Lado B), Desalienación and the epic Alienación. Hijo de la Tormenta are a demented and twisted force of nature through out the album. Fans of Truckfighters and At Devil Dirt are going to love this. Though I think Prog-Rock fans will get a kick out of this too. It's an epic album to listen to and it can be very complex at times. So my advise is to take a few listens to get the full effect as you will definitely miss different noises and riffs when you listen to this for the first time.

Hijo de la Tormenta debut album is freaking superb. Do yourself a favour and download this now at Bandcamp. As it's available on Buy Now Download. The album will be released physically soon on Venado Records - Facebook and Official. You owe it to yourself to listen to this album.

Awesome and Highly Recommended.
