Terrorlight cover art

Barricade is a Sludge Metal Band from Copenhagen, Denmark

The members are:

R. Heston: Guitar/voc.
J. Reinhardt: Bass/voc.
D. Wald: Drums
Patrick F: Guitar
T. Kyhl: Drums

Barricade is a band playing a brutal style of Sludge Metal riffage spliced with heavy slabs of Hardcore chaos for a truly pulsating sound. Sure they maybe slightly influenced by High On Fire and that is no bad thing. Barricade play fast-paced Hardcore/Sludge Metal riffs that is perfect for all you veteran mosh-pitters out there.

Their new album – Terrorlight – is a raucous angry driven affair packed full of furious Sludge Metal riffs to cause maximum damage to. Barricade does not slow down for a second as their music is played at an almost deadly pace. This is good as the band have 12 tracks of finely tuned sludge metal carnage to get through.

The albums tracks range from 2 mins to 4:30 mins in length. Therefore, there are no epic heavy progressive riffs to worry about. Just good old-fashioned intense based riffs that get straight down to business of destroying your world down to the very core!!!

The hardcore based vocals are vibrant, noisy and epic as heck through out. If you miss the good old days when Hardcore/Sludge Metal bands had a vocalist with real power and a presence that could kick-start a revolution then look no further. As Barricade are the complete package in the realm of Hardcore/Sludge Metal.

Barricade live in an untrustworthy world as their song titles have a dangerous treacherous vibe to them. Want proof of this. OK – how about these song titles – Traitor’s Trail, Cutthroat, Last Frontier, The Rage and Revolt. Not exactly uplifting song titles are they. If you want a full-on action packed Sludge Metal experience to test yourself against then I can’t recommend this album highly enough.

It may not be the prettiest of sounds or the most original, but not many can match the excitement that Barricade have laid down to rest here. Terrorlight is a true adrenaline rush from start to finish.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
