Kings Destroy has a rich varied history within the musical scene, as this in-depth bio will tell you

Kings Destroy, NYC’s hybrid of stoner rock, doom and hardcore, unites musicians from many of the genres’ most prolific bands. Hailing from the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, KD features guitarists Carl Porcaro and Chris Skowronski from legendary, 100k album selling ‘Killing Time’, vocalist Steve Murphy from ‘Uppercut’, drummer Rob Sefcik formerly of ‘Mans Ruin’, ‘The Begotten’, ‘Uppercut’ and ‘Electric Frankenstein’ and bassist Aaron Bumpus. With influences like The Melvins, Yob and Cro Mags, KD describes their sound as “brutal Sabbath heaviness with hardcore outbursts and disturbed vocals verging on the demented.”

They released their stunning 2010 debut album – And The Rest Will Surely Perish – to massive acclaim within the Doom/Stoner Metal scene. It was produced by the legend that is Sanford Parker.

Well 3 years later Kings Destroy are back with their brilliant follow up – A Time Of Hunting. Has much changed within that timeframe. Well you might think upon first listening to the album that everything has stayed the same. Pounding riffs and hard-hitting vocals to match. However, look beneath the surface and Kings Destroy have added a much darker tone to their music. Social conscience lyrics are merged with heavier pounding doom based riffs.

Sanford Parker is back on board yet again and he has transformed Kings Destroy into one of the finest bands currently around within the Doom/Stoner Metal scene.

First track – Storm Break – gets down to business right away in laying down some very thick groove based riffs to rock out to. Vocalist Steve is on great from right from the start. You can hear the anger and passion in his voice and he is superbly backed up by some mean riffs to shake the foundations with.

Second track – The Toe – is my fave track on the album as its 5:47 mins of pure unwanted fury from this great band. This song proves that Kings Destroy can write a song both with sublime lyrics and riffs to match. Kings Destroy breathe new life into their blend of heavy monolithic Doom/Stoner Metal. This is a song that will easily get under your skin and last long in the memory.

Kings Destroy follow this course of action packed riffs with hard-hitting vocals & lyrics to match. They never hold back in telling you how bad the world really is. All done with brilliant Doom/Stoner Metal riffs. Other great tracks to check out are: - Casse-Tete, Shattered Pattern, Times of Hunting and Turul.

All proving that Kings Destroy are one of the most important bands coming from the Doom/Stoner Metal scene. They never hold back in telling the world about their concerns and beliefs all done through the power of music. The band deserve credit for never shying away from hard-hitting subjects.

I wish my review could really tell you how brilliant this album really is. As I have not even scratched the surface in telling you what an important album, A Time Of Hunting actually is. Listen to the lyrics to Decrepit and I dare you not to be emotionally drained like I was. It still brings a tear to my eye at times. Very powerful stuff from a truly great band.

My final thoughts on the album are – An incredibly haunting and moving masterpiece that everybody needs to hear once in their life.

Amazing. End Of.
