Billy "The Mad Guy" Maverick - Drums
Sonny "The Magic Finger" Mc Cormick - Keyboard/Vocals

Los Disidentes Del Sucio Motel is a band who has changed their style of music over the last few years. Their debut album – Soundtrack From The Motion Picture – was a soundtrack to a movie that did not exist well except in LDDSM’s world. It featured a stunning collection of tracks that went through Fuzz, Desert Rock and Stoner Rock with superb Tongue In Cheek humour to match

Well 3 years since that last album… The guys are back with ARCANE.

Has anything changed - Yeah many things have change. The sound is louder and angrier than ever. Their self-brand of humour has been replaced with a darker tone. Though one thing that has not changed. The Riffs – the riffs are better than ever.

Now Los Disidentes Del Sucio Motel are hear to save us all from a world infested by a Zombie Plague. Yes, folks – Arcane – is a concept album on how to survive a Zombie Apocalypse. Look if their good buddies – Wheelfall – can make an album on how to survive an Alien Takeover why not an album on how to survive Zombie Apocalypse. It could happen…

That is the premise of Arcane - the undead trying to take over the world and the only people that can save us is a French Stoner Metal Band. Their weapon of choice against the undead – The almighty Stoner Metal Riff. Arcane is full of sublime riffs to crush the life and soul out of these terrifying opponents.

A.T.A.R.I – sets up the scene on what to expect. A fuzz drenched Stoner Metal track that harks back to the earlier days of Kyuss but with a dark twisted tale to match. Vocals are pitched at maximum level to match the great riffs on show.

Up next is Lucky Man, which feels it has came straight from their last album but played at a faster pace. Some excellent drumming inject more life into this great track.

3rd track – Z – is a track full of creepy atmospheric sounds and noises that plays out from a classic horror movie. This is where the album starts handing out hints and tips on how survive a world ravaged by Zombies. Though done with a sly sense of humour. The riffs and vocals become more powerful and they are the only thing between you and those demonic beasts. Take note of the lyrics as they could indeed save your life if a Zombie Attack ever comes to life.

Z – was the track that had that showed me LDDSM had something special up their sleeve due to the crazy video they posted back in Sept 2012. I am happy to report the guys have outdone themselves here.

So that is just a brief glimpse on what to expect on this excellent album. LDDSM have released their best album to date. It’s an action packed thrill ride that will have you on the edge of your seat. LDDSM have written some brilliant songs to rock out to. Everything is played louder than ever before in LDDSM’s world.

More standout tracks to check out are Santa Muerte, Ouija, Mojo, and my fave track Journey – which is the finest song LDDSM have written so far. A psychedelic masterpiece full of excellent riffs with great vocals & lyrics to match.

LDDSM have changed their style of sound for nearly all of their past releases. I hope the guys stick to this style of Stoner Metal as it is the best they have ever sounded. A brilliant album that will surely gain LDDSM further exposure within the Stoner Metal scene as Arcane has the potential to launch them on a bigger stage.

With Huata, Wheelfall, Abrahma and now Los Disidentes Del Sucio Motel, France now have some of the best Stoner Metal bands currently out there. Arcane is a brilliant album and one that will no doubt be part of my Top 10 Records of 2013.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
