Daggers Mid Flight are a very out there experimental Stoner Rock/Sludge Metal Band incorporating Alt-Rock, Stoner Rock, Sludge Metal and even Ambient Drone Rock into their unusual blend of top-notch music.

Daggers Mid Flight can be called a supergroup of sorts as they feature members from the following bands:

Hotel Wrecking City Traders, Spider Goat Canyon & Goatwitch

Now I would say with talent like that you know its going to be brilliant. And you know what it is. But this album won’t suit everyone. Some might turn this album off after the first song as it’s very chaotic and experimental all the way through.

These guys are probably the most insane and experimental band I have ever heard but the more better for it. They are one of the most unique bands I have heard this year.

Their new album – Leap Of Fangorn is a 5 song and 55 minute ride into the world of Experimental Rock gone crazy. I loved it from the start. It’s great to hear things like this.

Music that is so from the normal it demands to be heard. And these guys deserved to be heard. If you don’t like the first brilliant song – Leap Of Fangorn – A 15 minute epic. Then you won’t like what comes next. It’s best for you to move onto something more straight forward.

These guys are parts Karma To Burn, Tool, The Melvins and OM blended together on a massive distorted ambient rock scale. It’s very avant-garde at times. But the amount of sounds and riffs these guys pack into their music is simply sensational. All I can say.

You might think I am doing these guys a bad rep to their music. I am not. I am just warning you what to expect. It can be very uncomfortable and unflinching to listen to at times due to the experimental nature of it all. But there are some top-notch Stoner Rock/Sludge Metal riffs to look for amongst all the chaotic ambient soundscapes.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way. This album is only for people who like their music experimental on a grand scale.

If this album intrigues you then you have 4 other excellent tracks to check out. Two of them run past the 14 minute mark. So strap yourselves in as your in for a wild ride into the unknown.

The album is brilliantly produced. It has to be to include all of the far-out there riffs and ambient noises on offer.

If my review intrigues you then you can download this from BandCamp Pay Anything You Want Type Deal. I think this is an excellent album featuring music you don’t hear much of these days. And I applaud the guys for doing something totally different.

Highly Recommended.
