 Monolith Cult cover art

Monolith Cult is a Heavy Rock/Doom Metal band from Bradford, UK

The members are

Lee Grind - Guitar
Izak Gloom - Bass
Damo Clarke - Drums
Bry Outlaw - Throat

Monolith Cult is new band featuring members of such great bands as a Lazarus Blackstar, Solstice, Khang and TDR. And with a line-up, you are bound to expect something dark and menacing. Well you do. Monolith Cult is a very dark beast indeed.

Their debut album - Run From The Light - is a band rooted in dark heavy rock matched with brutal doom metal atmospherics. Taking influence from bands such as Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus and GoatSnake. This is a band not afraid to push the boundaries of delicate subject matter. Their debut album is better for it as it pictures an unflinching portrayal of the world we live in including our personal frailties.

First track – All Down The River is a blistering almost 10 minute epic that will soon get under your skin. It offers a huge glimpse in what to expect for the next 40 mins or so. Dark riffs that come at you from every angle with unsettling lyrics and vocals to match.

Monolith Cult start to add eerie and scary audio clips to heighten the mood and feel of the entire album. The six tracks on offer will send chills down your spine. This album feels like the perfect soundtrack of a legendary 70s British Horror Film as it has a dark and twisted gothic feel blended together with great riffs the band have at their disposal.

Check out other excellent tracks – Monolith Cult, Violent Movements and Human Cull. All equally demonstrating how powerful and creative the band actually is. The album has a dark and unforgiving nature that will find many fans within the Doom Metal scene. I applaud the band for adding bleak soundbytes, which gives this album an unpredictable and dangerous edge.

The album is expertly produced and played by all involved. I hope this is the start of many great things to come from this superb band. It is simply a stunning album I cannot recommend highly enough.

Excellent and Highly Recommended.
