Bubonic Bear is a Stoner/Sludge Metal band from South Philadelphia.

This brilliant band has been on this blog before and I rated about them highly then. And still do. They are a great bunch of guys and who are hugely talented to boot as well.
Well the guys have released a new release since then. The amazing “Fleshworld”. An 8 song 25 minute headbanging blast of top-notch Sludge/Stoner Metal riffs which I consider the bands best work to date.
The guys sent me this before Xmas and I have been playing it on numerous occasions since then. As its some of the finest 25 minutes you will hear this year.
These guys are masters at writing short, sharp high energy Sludge/Stoner Metal tunes with a kick. The longest song “Young Professionals” is on for 4 minutes and gets this brilliant EP off to a great start which never stops until the dying seconds.
The album is superbly produced and shows a band brimming with great ideas. If you’re into Converge then you need check these guys now. As they play the same sort of fast paced high energy angry based music but mixed with top-notch Sludge/Stoner Metal.
