DEAD EXISTENCE - Born Into The Planet's Scars Review

Born Into The Planet's Scars Cover Art

Dead Existence are a Sludge Metal band from London, UK

The members are:

Jake: Vocals
Chris: Guitars
Fred: Guitars
Max: Drums
Matt: Bass

Dead Existence play a brutal blend of Sludge Metal that draws influence from the legendary NOLA scene especially bands like EyeHateGod and Corrosion of Conformity.

But Dead Existence play their music much louder and heavier with bleaker vocals to match. These guys are another fearsome UK Sludge Metal band gaining a well respected reputation from all corners. And its very much deserved.

The band released their latest release “Born Into The Planet's Scars” in late 2011. It’s a 2 song 27 minute blast of heavy pounding riffs you will have in your head for days.

The 2 songs here show what this band is capable of. Playing heavy brutal loud sludge riffs that any top-notch NOLA band would be proud to call their own.

These guys have got a fearsome reputation on stage and recently supported YOB on their last UK tour in Oct 2011. So you know these guys are super talented if they get slots like that.

The release is superbly produced and you can hear every last note played to brilliant hard-hitting fashion. Both of the songs on show are superb examples of bleak based down-tempo Sludge Metal riffage done brilliantly.

They are both epic tracks that will leave you begging for more. Especially the 14:34 minute epic track “Insert Title Here”.

The band are superb musicians and prove they can play top-notch Sludge Metal with the best of them. The band have been going for a while now and are another band that deserve attention on the big stage.

The way they blend Sludge, Doom, Hardcore and Stoner Metal into their music is not an easy task especially when its bleak as this. But Dead Existence pull this off with ease.

I remember listening to these guys back a few years ago with their superb debut album. I forgot all about them till now. Shame on me as I would missed out on this superb release. Thank You to the band for contacting me to review this superb release. I wont forget these talented Sludge Metallers in a long time.

Because of this release I am definitely a confirmed fan and look forward to their next outstanding release.

I urge you all to check these guys out on their BandCamp Page right now. If you like what you hear then buy their superb releases as they are available at very reasonable prices.

Simply Superb. This showcases another brilliant band coming out from the UK.
