Bio

"Swarm Of Spheres is a three-piece outfit situated in Ottawa,Ontario. Formed in December 2010, the band members have also done time in Barn Burner (Metal Blade Records), The Chariot (Solid State / Good Fight Music), Architect (Black Market Activities), I Hate Sally (Underground Operations/Vagrant Records) and Biipiigwan (Handshake Inc.), among others.

Invest In Your Death is the sophomoric release to their eponymous debut released just under two years ago. In June 2013, the band holed up for a couple of days at Boxcar Sound Recording Studio in Hamilton, Ontario with Sean Pearson (Cursed, Shallow North Dakota, Fiftywatthead, etc.), manning the soundboard and ripped through seven brand new anthems of dense, sonic heaviness.

Clocking in at just under 30 minutes, Invest In Your Death is comprised mainly of first and second takes. The recording attempts to capture the energy of a live setting and display their unique blend of fast-paced rock n' roll, crushing sludgy riffs and spacey soundscapes.

The album was self-released in digital format and available as a free download via the band's Bandcamp site with plans for a physical release in the near future."

Review

I first featured this amazing band back in May 2012 when I reviewed their brilliant debut S/T album. It impressed the hell out of me as Swarm Of Spheres know how to write a mean loud mother-fucking riff. If you're a fan of Kylesa, High On Fire, Torche and Mastodon then you're going to love this band like I do.

Their new album - Invest In Your Death - is even better. It sees the band on truly majestic from from the start. Fast-paced action packed riffs waiting to fuck you up. First track - Shoot First, Ask Christian Slater - is a brilliantly titled riff laiden journey of head-banging riffs. Almost 2 minutes of pure rock fury perfection. I wouldn't expect nothing less from these hugely talented rockers.

If you were impressed with their last album then you ain't heard nothing yet as Swarm Of Spheres have really upped their game on this album. It's unrelentless from the word go. Check out superb tracks Get Some Or Run Some, Invest In Your Death and Crust Punk With A Weekly Allowance. These tracks have some finely tuned riffs with great vocals to match. It shows that Swarm Of Spheres are masters at writing loud, angry Sludge/Stoner Metal riffs that will have you head-banging in no time at all.

Though I have to say the albums two standout tracks have to be - Rest In Pieces and Fuck You And The Fixed Gear You Rode In On - Both epic tracks that deserved to be played at full blast to fully experience the true power of this great band. The riffs have a life of their own with the band launching huge sonic riffs which destroys everything in their sight. These tracks give the album that extra WOW factor.

I have been listening to this album all week. I must be into double figures listening to it. And it becomes better with each and every listen. Canada has some brilliant Sludge/Stoner Rock bands to call their own and Swarm Of Spheres are no different.

This album is a masterclass of Sludge/Stoner Metal. I advise you now to download this brilliant album now. It's available for Buy Now Download on BandCamp.

You can thank me later. You need this band in your life. So headover to BandCamp and download this now. While you're there, download their excellent S/T debut album. You won't be sorry!!!!

Amazing and Highly Recommended.
